I have this friend, Casey, who somehow seems to know every dangerously skinny man from Atlantic to Pacific. Thanks in part to this svelt-seeking penchant of hers, I was introduced to LA outfit the Cold War Kids. Saw them on tour with Figurines and Tapes n' Tapes a little over a month ago and was quite taken with them. Their almost percusive use of the piano in the first minute of Hospital Beds was what did it for me.
